The young apprentice driver seriously injured in an accident which had caused the death of her instructor also died

An “extremely rare” accident took place on Thursday June 30 in France, and more precisely on a departmental road in Ille-et-Vilaine, in Brittany. As Ouest-France had explained, a driving instructor had indeed died following an accident while he was in session with an apprentice driver.

For reasons that remain to be determined, the car driven by the 18-year-old student had hit a van head-on. The shock had been violent and the van had been thrown into a field. The driving school car had ended its journey in a ditch.

The 31-year-old driving instructor died instantly. The student was seriously injured and hospitalized. Still according to Ouest-France, the young woman was not in her first hours of driving school and was to pass her license shortly.

Unfortunately, this Wednesday, we learn that Mallaurye Gérard, the young driver, died of his injuries on Tuesday, despite several surgeries. “She had passed her baccalaureate this year. She had a passion for horses, which she practiced in Carentoir. We are alongside his family, invested in local life, ”said the mayor of Sixt-sur-Aff, where the young woman was from.

Ludovic Nicolas, the other victim, was the manager of his own driving school, which he had set up in 2015.
