Metro has all its stations operational after failure that delayed the opening of almost all its lines | National

The Santiago Metro had serious problems at the beginning of the service, due to a power failure that prevented it from opening almost all of its lines. The problem is already overcome.

A fault occurred in the Santiago Subway during the morning of this Wednesday, which prevented it from opening at 6:00 AM lines 1, 2, 4, 4A and 5.

At that time, only lines 3 and 6 were operational, the only ones that did not present power problems.

After 6:15, some of the stations began to open of the affected lines, but this occurred slowly as reported by auditors of Radio Bio Bio.

At 6:58, Metro’s customer and sustainability manager, Paulina del Campo, assured that all Metro stations are operational.

He added that everything happened because of a problem in the electrical power system, which generated an impediment at the beginning of the lines. This was detected around 4:30 in the morning, when the cars begin to move prior to the opening.

Del Campo pointed out that there is already normality in all the lines and that they even work with the services of Express Routes on lines 2, 4 and 5.

The failure led to the passengers will fill the whereregardings to move, especially in communes such as Maipú, Puente Alto and La Florida, where people from the capital travel early to go to the central communes.

This generated that Transantiago and RED buses circulate at full capacity, which further complicated transfers.
