The Lakers have had a few nice shots among undrafted rookies lately, such as Alex Caruso and Austin Reaves. And maybe they already have the successor to these two men… A young player is indeed a hit with the fans.
While waiting to be able to attract big stars to complete the workforce, the Lakers have at least stocked up on rookies to test during the summer. The leaders have in passing taken control of a few names well known to observers, since Shareef O’Neal and Scottie Pippen Jr. participate in the Summer League with the franchise with 17 champion banners. The second has also made the show recentlyduring the victory of his team once morest the Warriors.
The sons of the two Hall of Famers aren’t the only ones who seized the opportunity to make an impression, however. Other young shooters know that this may be their only chance to stay with the Purples and Golds and therefore give the maximum, like Cole Swider. Undrafted following a full course in the NCAA, the 2m06 winger stands out for his great three-point skills, shooting at 14.5 points (61.5% from afar), more than 4 rebounds and an average block:
Cole Swider shines in Summer League for the Lakers

In four years spent between Syracuse and Villanova, the wingman has proven to be an extremely interesting sniper, a quality that Darvin Ham’s squad would need. For his last university season, he turned 41% from behind the arc, with 6 attempts per game. A very nice volume coupled with a precision that has improved year following year, it was enough for the Californian public to make it one of their favorites:
what’s great is that he gets that shot off with defender there. and has mid range if he needs it.

What’s great is that he takes those kinds of shots with a defender on him, and he has a shot from mid-range if needed.
Best shooter in his draft class.

Best shooter of his draft vintage.
It’s unlikely that Cole Swider will be on the court much in 2022-23, as he will have to contend with some serious competition. Nevertheless, he should be able to try his hand in the G League. The new Austin Reaves? In any case, this is what the Lakers hope.
