Al-Marsad newspaper: The New York Post published a report on tourism in Saudi Arabia, noting that the plan of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to develop this sector is pushing towards attracting regarding 100 million tourists by 2030, which will make Saudi Arabia one of the most visited countries on earth. .

Building a trillion dollar global tourism economy

The “report” stated that the Kingdom plans to build a global tourism economy worth a trillion dollars, and to shift away from oil to a multi-sector economy. Pointing to the Kingdom’s plan to rely on strong infrastructure that will eventually turn the Kingdom into a major tourist attraction in the region.

Diriyah Gate Development Project

The report indicated that the first phase of the $50.6 billion Diriyah Gate development is scheduled to begin in Riyadh this fall. She explained that the project includes tens of hotels, tens of thousands of new apartments, a university, a metro and an opera house.

The project also includes four Michelin-starred restaurants, huge numbers of palm trees, and a spacious Champs-Elysees-style shopping area – all of which will be completed by 2026.

The report added that the Kingdom plans to double the population of its capital by 2030, as this project, which will be regarding 13 times the size of Hudson Yards, will attract an estimated 25 million visitors annually.

The report concluded that the Kingdom announced in September 2019 that visitors from 49 countries can enter for a fee of only $117 at the airport.
