Several people have been bullet wounds this Monday in the town of Highland Park (Illinois, EE.UU.) for shooting that occurred during a parade for the country’s Independence Day, according to the Chicago Sun Times and Chicago Tribune.
The city of Highland Park reported on its Facebook page that the Police were responding to “an incident” in the center of the municipality and that the parade for the Independence Day of USA, which is celebrated on the 4th of July, had been cancelled.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the governor of IllinoisDemocrat Jay Robert “JB” Pritzker was in the parade and reported nine wounded as a result of the shooting.
Neither the Police nor the Highland Park Mayor’s Office have offered official figures on the injured or if there has been any death.
A Chicago Sun Times reporter said he saw blankets covering three bloodied bodies and said at least five people were injured, the newspaper reported.
And witness quoted by the Chicago Sun Times indicates that at least 20 shots were heard.
Highland Park is a municipality located regarding 40 kilometers from Chicago in which regarding 30,000 people live, according to the 2020 census.
