Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the campaigns passed through 3,309 establishments, and 3,973 samples of food were withdrawn for examination in the laboratories of the Ministry of Health, and to ensure their suitability for human consumption, in addition to issuing records regarding violations of the health requirements that must be available in places of food circulation. .
Abdel Ghaffar stressed that these campaigns come in implementation of the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Health and Population, to tighten control over food establishments, intensify control campaigns, to ensure the safety of food provided to citizens, and take all necessary legal measures regarding violations are being monitored.
For his part, Dr. Amr Kandil, Head of the Preventive Medicine Sector, confirmed the execution of 19 tons and 461 kilograms of miscellaneous foods, and 1,938 liters of juices and drinks, which were found to be unfit for human consumption, adding that 1,862 reports of some food facilities were released, due to the presence of uncertified workers. In addition to stopping 612 facilities that were run without a license.
Dr. Maisa Hamza, head of the Central Administration for Environmental Affairs and supervisor of the General Administration of Food Control, indicated that the control of hotels, restaurants, and various food establishments should be intensified, and that all necessary legal measures and measures should be taken once morest violators; In the interest of the health and safety of citizens.
