The roadblock on the A2 before Valenciennes makes you lose an hour between Hensies and Vicq: here’s how to avoid it

For several months, Belgian motorists using the A2 Brussels-Valenciennes motorway have been diverted by the small town of Vicq, in France. They must leave the highway, enter the village, go to a roundregarding, retrace their steps… and take the highway back to the same ramp.

The deviation via this European axis of the E19 causes major traffic jams but also a degradation of the roadway linked to the passage of many heavy goods vehicles. Neighboring homes also complain regarding pollution and noise pollution.

This first weekend of July and departure on vacation, the situation was particularly tense, with more than an hour late following the Hensies border post to Vicq.

This is why our Mobilinfo team strongly advises you to go instead via the E42/A16 towards Tournai and then the E42/A8 towards Lille.
