The number of new COVID-19 cases has risen to 10,000 for the second day.
As of 00:00 on the 3rd, the Central Quarantine Countermeasures Headquarters announced that there were 9,868 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Korea and 191 people imported from abroad, bringing the total to 1059.
This is an increase of nearly 4,000 from the same day a week ago when there were 6,000.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the cumulative number of confirmed cases is 18,389,611.
The number of patients with severe severe cases is the same as yesterday, 53.
The death toll was 8, the cumulative death toll was 24,570, and the cumulative fatality rate was 0.13%.
Among the confirmed cases in Korea, 1,417 people aged 60 or older were at high risk, accounting for 14.4% of all new confirmed cases, and 2,008 people under the age of 18 were 20.3%.
The number of COVID-19 beds is 5,833 beds, and the bed utilization rate is 5.7% for critically-severe beds, 8.7% for semi-severe beds, 6.4% for moderate-severe beds, and 24.1% for living treatment centers.
As of 00:00 today, the number of home-treated patients was 55,573.
