A 68-year-old Austrian tourist died after being attacked by a shark while swimming in the Red Sea at the resort of Sahl Hasheesh, near Hurghada, Egypt.
According to local media reports, the victim died of cardiac arrest in the ambulance. She had previously been bitten on one arm and one leg in the water.
On a video broadcast on social networks, but which we have not published, we can see the poor lady struggling and then trying to reach the beach, in the middle of red water. All under the eyes of many other swimmers, asked to leave the water.
Shark attacks remain rare in Egypt. The last death in the Red Sea in Egypt dates back to 2018.
