Boston strengthens with Malcolm Brogdon and Danilo Gallinari

The last finalists clearly announce the color: Boston will be back next year with the ambition of winning the title. The Celtics reached a deal on Friday to acquire the guard from Indiana, Malcolm Brogdon. In exchange, Boston sends a good part of its Indianapolis bench: Daniel Theis, Aaron Nesmith, Nick Stauskas, Malik Fitts, John Morgan and a first round of draft 2023. In full reconstruction, the Pacers had made their leader available to receive assets. It’s done ! In three Indy seasons, Brogdon shot 18.9 points 44.7% from success, 5.1 rebounds and 6.3 assists. behind the tandem Jaylen BrownJayson Tatum, the former Pacer is expected to play the role of first mate taking charge of playmaking while fueling the brand. The only downside is the injury prone profile of the leader, who has never played more than 64 games since his rookie season.

Boston continued its shopping on the market by signing Danilo Gallinari. Sent from the San Antonio side in the exchange for Dejounte Murray, the Italian was cut a few days later. Again a free agent, he will engage with the NBA finalists via a contract of 13 million over two years. Here once more, a good deal for the C’s who are taking over a veteran capable of scoring from the bench. Gallinari comes out of eleven seasons in the League with an offensive performance between 12 and 20 points. A safe bet that can bring experience in the playoffs. With those additions, Boston has a payroll of 167.5 million for 11 players. If it is obvious that the franchise will be in the luxury tax, he still has an exception trade of 17 million to complete his recruitment.
