A Polish economic delegation is visiting Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra from June 27 to 30 to explore the investment opportunities offered by this region.
During a meeting held on Tuesday with the secretary general of the wilaya of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, Ibrahim Boutmilat, the members of the delegation of the Polish group Oknoplast, European leader in the manufacture of PVC windows and doors, highlighted highlight the investment opportunities in this region which enjoys significant potential in terms of the quality of infrastructure and productive sectors.
This meeting was also an opportunity to highlight the pivotal role of the Kingdom, given its two seafronts and its strategic geographical position linking Europe to the depths of Africa, in addition to qualified human resources.
Similarly, the members of the Polish delegation held a meeting with the director of the Regional Investment Center (CRI) of Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra, which was marked by a video projection emphasizing the achievements made in the region, more particularly in the social fields, and the major planned investment projects, particularly in the port, agriculture, tourism and renewable energy sectors.
In a statement to the press, the director of the CRI, Mohammed Jifer, pointed out that the visit of this Polish group “highlights the growing attractiveness of the southern provinces of the Kingdom in terms of foreign investment from the private sector, particularly from European countries”.
Mr. Jifer, in this sense, noted that the visit of this foreign economic delegation to this promising region, is part of the economic dynamics and the territorial attractiveness of investments, in accordance with the insightful vision of HM the King Mohammed VI, aiming to make the southern provinces a locomotive of development at the regional and continental levels.
For his part, the president of the Oknoplast group, Mikolaj Placek, expressed the great interest of the Board of Directors of this group in the Moroccan market and in investment in the Kingdom, noting that an investment project will be launched in manufacturing PVC windows and doors, as part of a joint project with a Moroccan partner.
“We are a Polish company, leader in Europe and present in 19 countries, in the United States and Canada and we are working to position ourselves in the promising African market”underlined the president of the Oknoplast group who was accompanied by a large delegation including the group’s financial director, Damian Szatan.
Mr. Placek also praised the efforts of the Kingdom’s Ambassador to Poland, Abderrahim Atmoun, which enabled the Polish group Oknoplast to access the Moroccan market and to examine the potential for investment in the southern provinces. of the Kingdom.
It should be noted that the company Oknoplast had materialized its decision to invest in the southern provinces, during a working meeting held with Mr. Atmoun on December 4, 2021.
