The Ministry of Mines and Energy announced that as of this date the prices of gasoline and diesel will present an average variation in the 13 main cities of the country of $150 per gallon. The above, derived from the increase in the international prices of these refined products in the last semester, a situation that has been exacerbated by the Russian war in Ukraine and the limitation of energy supplies in Europe.
“In particular, in the last month, the international price of motor gasoline showed an increase of 17% compared to the values registered during the months of April and May. In the same way, the international price of diesel presented an increase of 12% in this same period of time”, indicates a statement from the energy mining portfolio.
Thus, the price with the aforementioned adjustment is $9,180 for regular gasoline and $9,018 for diesel.
“It is important to highlight that including this adjustment, Colombia continues to have one of the cheapest gasoline and diesel prices in Latin America thanks to the operation of the Fuel Price Stabilization Fund (FEPEC), which has mitigated inflationary pressure. of the increases in the prices of oil and its derivatives in recent months”, highlights the Ministry’s statement.
And next, the entity highlights that, in the case of not having had the operation of the FEPC, so far in 2022, the price of current motor gasoline would have been approximately $6,500 above the current average sale price , on average of the 13 main cities. “In the same way, on average for the 13 main cities, the price of diesel would have been approximately $9,500 above the sale price registered in this period of time,” highlights the note.
