French press reports revealed today, Friday, that Paris Saint-Germain reached a final agreement with coach Mauricio Pochettino to terminate his contract with the club in exchange for a large financial compensation.
According to the French newspaper, L’Equipe, Paris Saint-Germain will pay 10 million euros in exchange for the termination of Pochettino’s contract, which runs until June 2023.
Pochettino took charge of the Parisian club in January of last year, and was satisfied with winning only 3 local titles (French League in the 2021/2022 season, the French Cup in the 2020/2021 season, and the French Super Cup in 2020).
In the same context, the newspaper pointed out that Pochettino’s departure will pave the way for Paris Saint-Germain to sign former Nice coach Christophe Galtier, with the two clubs signing an agreement worth several million last week to announce Galtier’s departure from the southern club in preparation for his joining PSG within at least two years.
