Rs 50 service charge for Rs 20 tea; Bill Viral on Train, Explained by Railways

Balagovind, a passenger, has shared pictures on social media of paying a bill of Rs 70 with a service charge of Rs 50 added to the tea price of just Rs 20. On June 28, during the journey of the Shatabdi Express from Delhi to Bhopal, the catering service staff gave the passenger a bill of Rs 70 for a cup of tea.

After the Rs 70 tea bill was discussed on social media, the railway authorities have come forward to explain the matter. The Railways explains that a circular issued in 2018 states that a service charge of Rs. This service charge is also applicable to Rajdhani.
