“I had just given birth from Brooklyn and had lost a lot of weight, which also happened to my mother following her pregnancies and that did not mean that I had eating disorders. The host, Chris Evans, then had me climb on a scale to weigh myself,” says Victoria Beckham, in an interview with Australian “Vogue” for its July issue.
Fat or thin, it’s never good enough
This scene takes place in 1999, on a TV set, two months following giving birth. Invited to weigh herself live to verify that she had regained her pre-pregnancy weight, she was applauded by the public when her weight was 50 kilos. “It was horrible,” she recalls.
The stylist The 48-year-old adds that throughout her career she has been described as either too fat or too thin. “After my first pregnancy, there was a magazine cover showing every part of my body I needed to focus on to lose weight.” She regrets that every woman, regardless of body size, always be criticized and remembers being called a skeleton, among other things.
She favors healthy eating.
Recently singled out because of her diet composed of vegetables and fish, Victoria Beckham explains to the magazine that she simply wants to eat healthy. “I’m just disciplined. I eat a lot of healthy fats: fish, avocado, nuts, that sort of thing. I drink alcohol unless I have a reason not to. It can happen that I go three to six months without drinking”, she describes, specifying that she consumes large quantities of vegetables.
