Russian President Vladimir Putin had a phone call with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the 1st (local time) to discuss the Ukraine crisis and international food and energy supply issues, the Kremlin said.
“The leaders of the two countries discussed in detail the issues of Russia-India relations, including further development of mutually beneficial relations in the economic field,” the Kremlin said in a statement.
“They also expressed their mutual will to fully strengthen the preferential strategic partnership between the two countries,” he said.
The Kremlin continued, “At the request of Prime Minister Modi, President Putin explained the main circumstances of the special military operation (Ukraine) being carried out by Russia.” He pointed out the failure of efforts to resolve the political and diplomatic crisis.”
It is known that the leaders of the two countries also discussed in detail the situation in the international food and energy market.
The Kremlin said: “President Putin has pointed out structural mistakes in several countries that have disrupted the free trade system of food commodities and have caused sharp rises in prices.”
