Officially .. Manchester City includes German Stefan Ortega

Manchester City have announced the signing of German goalkeeper Stefan Ortega, goalkeeper Armenia Bielefeld, on a free transfer deal on a 3-year contract.

And Manchester City said in a statement published on its official website this morning, Friday, that Ortega, the 29-year-old, is the club’s second signing this summer following the Norwegian Erling Haaland, and he will wear the number 18 shirt.

Ortega said in statements to his new club’s website, “This is a wonderful step for me, Manchester City is a great team, the squad includes high-level players in all positions, the opportunity to join them was a dream for me.”

Ortega’s contract with Armenia Bielefeld expired at the end of last season, and the goalkeeper refused to renew his contract following the team was relegated to the second division.

During the season, Ortega played 35 matches in all competitions, during which he conceded 59 goals.

Ortega will be a backup goalkeeper for Brazil’s Ederson Moraes.

Ortega is scheduled to join Manchester City this month, to begin the pre-season stage.
