Mumbai: Former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has reacted for the first time following the new Chief Minister of Maharashtra came to power. Uddhav Thackeray said that if Amit Shah had kept his promise in 2019, there would not have been a Mahavikas Aghadi alliance. Thackeray’s response was in reference to ending his 25-year alliance with the BJP in 2019.
Those who have formed the new government have made Shiv Sainik himself the Chief Minister. This is what he said earlier. He and Amit Shah decided to share the post of Chief Minister for two and a half years each. But BJP has violated this. Uddhav asked why the BJP is doing this now instead of doing this when it was in alliance with the BJP in the state and at the centre.
BJP stabbed me in the back for power. I had earlier told Shah that Shiv Sena wanted a Chief Minister for two and a half years during the BJP-Sena alliance. If they had done this earlier, there would not have been a Mahavikas Aghadi alliance, Uddhav said.
Thackeray accused Amit Shah of violating the agreement that the Sena and the BJP would share the post of Chief Minister for two-and-a-half years each. Later, the Shiv Sena, which broke the alliance, formed an alliance with the Congress and the NCP, which had completely opposite ideas, and formed the government by forming an alliance with the Mahavikas Aghadi.
Uddhav Thackeray resigned on Wednesday following the removal of the rebels. Rebel MLA and senior leader Eknath Shinde was sworn in as the new Chief Minister on Thursday.
