Blizzard Recycles Old WoW Shop Helmets for Prime Gaming – World of Warcraft

Arkentass told you regarding the new Prime Gaming gifts for various Blizzard games. On the World of Warcraft side, Blizzard offers transmogrifications in the form of helmets for your characters. If the visuals evoke a vague memory in you, know that it is completely normal.

Indeed, these helms had been put on sale in 2013 in the official store of the MMO. Sold for €15 each, I have no idea how successful they were, but since I don’t remember seeing a single one in game, I have the vague impression that it was very relative.

Some players feel that offering items that were once sold for cold hard cash is perhaps a bit borderline on the company’s part. I can’t fault them, but Blizzard probably thinks it’s time-barred, especially since the helmets were taken off the market around 2019.

That said, transmos, mascots, toys or mounts that are no longer for sale, there are dozens of them, especially with the disappearance of the collectible card game. I sincerely believe that one day Blizzard will reuse these, but maybe not for Prime Gaming. Indeed, these objects have more values for the players and in this case, it looks more like a recycling of old forgotten objects than a real interesting gift.

As a reminder, here are the dates on which you can sell your personal data log in to Prime Gaming to retrieve the transmos:

  • June 29–July 27: Firelord’s Jewel Helm
  • July 27 to August 24: Hungering Darkness Hood
  • August 24 to September 21: Crown of Eternal Winter

Let’s finish with screenshots from the era, and even a 45€ video. The one I made in 2013 to show you the rendering in game 😉
