Last week, Antonin, a 31-year-old young man died, hit by a car while riding his bicycle in Lobbes (province of Hainaut). His relatives are appealing to motorists to be careful.
Last Thursday, Antonin went with friends on a bike ride to Lobbes. It was on a country lane that the 31-year-old dad was violently hit by a motorist. “I would like him to blame himself every day. He took the life of a father, a brother, a son, a friend”, says Arthur, the victim’s brother.
Difficult for his relatives not to blame this motorist. His profile immediately made them think of the driver of the vehicle drama in Strepy-Bracquegnies. “The driver who hit my brother is a 22-year-old boy. He was driving a very powerful Golf and was under the influence of alcohol. He was driving over the limit [autorisée]. We made the connection right away. confides his sister Yutta.
His family wants to appeal for caution. There are, according to her, far too many accidents of this kind. “It is not because there is no road sign that one is obliged to drive at 100 km/h in a street. You have to think that there may be an Antonin at the end of the street and who intends to return home to find his little family”, whispers Arthur, his brother. Antonin’s relatives hope that justice will be done and that this umpteenth accident will raise awareness.
