A prominent Spanish politician has sparked controversy in his country following he warned that the country would be subjected to a “demographic winter” due to young people’s reluctance to marry and their preference for transgender sexual relations.
Juan García Gallardo, who belongs to the Spanish populist “Vox” party, said that “young people who are having sex for pleasure rather than having children are the reason why large areas of Spain are rapidly becoming uninhabited.”
He added that this pattern of relations led to a “demographic winter” in Zamora, a province whose population has decreased by regarding 30,000 people in the past 20 years, according to the newspaper. The Times.
He added that young people forget “the main purpose of sex,” stressing: “The demographic winter has harmed this society, and this is caused by underestimating sex and turning it into a consumption act, because it has become an end in itself.”
The Vox party is a right-wing party, and in February received a large number of votes that qualified it to share power in the Spanish region of Castilla and Leon, of which García Gallardo is the vice-president.
newspaper says The Guardian The British said that the problem of underpopulation in the country’s interior provinces had already begun to increase, and that vast swaths of the interior had begun to be known as “Hollow Spain”.
But, she said, “the shift is primarily due to a lack of work, infrastructure, good roads, transport links, and high-speed internet” in those areas, not transsexual rates.
