The Egyptian Dar Al Iftaa confirmed that it was proven on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, that he used to fast on the nine days of Dhul-Hijjah; In “Sunan Abi Dawood” and others on the authority of some of the wives of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, she said: “The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, used to fast nine Dhul-HijjahAshura, and three days of every month, the first Monday of the month and Thursday.
And on the authority of Hafsa, may God be pleased with her, she said: “There are four that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, did not leave: fasting the day of Ashura, the ten days, and three days of every month, and the two units of prayer before the morning prayer.” Narrated by Ahmad, al-Nasa’i, and Ibn Hibban, and its authenticity.
As for what Muslim narrated on the authority of Aisha, may God be pleased with her, that she said: “I never saw the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, fasting in the ten days.” Imam al-Nawawi said in his Commentary on Muslim (8/71-72): The scholars said: This The hadeeth suggests that fasting the ten days is disliked, and what is meant by the ten days here is the nine days of the beginning of Dhul-Hijjah.
The hadiths have preceded its virtues, and it was proven in “Sahih al-Bukhari” that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, said: “There are no days in which righteous deeds are better than these days.” He means the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. This is due to illness, travel, or other things, or that she did not see him fasting during it, and it does not necessitate that he should not fast in the same matter. May God be upon him and his family fast the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah, the day of Ashura, and three days of every month, Mondays of the month and Thursdays.” Narrated by Abu Dawood and this is his wording.
