The Minister of the Interior of VenezuelaRemigio Ceballos, reported this Tuesday that the second “potential cyclone” of the year weakened following passing through Trinidad and Tobago, although -he assured- the measures taken by the Executive will be maintained “until further notice” to give “protection to the population ”.
“The risk prevention and management system of Venezuela informs the population that following the passage of the potential tropical cyclone over Trinidad and Tobagoit decreased its intensity and originated its weakening”, the minister said in a message on his Twitter account.
Ceballos shared a message from National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inameh) in which it is indicated that the system moves along the coast of Miranda state in the Caribbean Sea.
“It presents maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour with stronger gusts, it presents a current movement towards the west at 48 kilometers per hour and a minimum central pressure of 1010 mb”he added.

Also, the Inameh He pointed out that a tropical storm warning is maintained for Grenada and its dependencies, Bonaire, Curaçao, Aruba, the island of Margarita, Coche and Cubagua and the rest of the coast of Venezuela.
“Intermittent rainfall is present in its path so tropical storm conditions are expected somewhere within the warning area within 36 hours,” the agency explained.
In addition, he continued, the potential cyclone is expected to produce “heavy rains” in the Windward Islands and northeast of Venezuela.
President Nicholas Maduro announced on Tuesday night the suspension of classes at all levels in the national territory on Wednesday and Thursday before the arrival of the potential tropical cyclone.
“We are going to suspend classes throughout the national territory, in the 23 states plus Caracas, the entire national territory, suspension of classes (…) classes suspended Wednesday and Thursday,” Maduro said in a speech broadcast by the state channel Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).
