Minister of Energy and Water Walid Fayyad announced that he “issued today an exceptional schedule for hydrocarbons, following the rapid decline in the dollar exchange rate since yesterday, which was reflected in an inevitable decline in the price of diesel and gas.”
A member of the Syndicate of Hydrocarbon Owners, George Al-Barraks, indicated that “the schedule issued today reduced the diesel canister by 10,000 pounds and the gas bottle by 4,000 pounds, as a result of the stability in the price of imported goods and a decline in the dollar exchange rate in the market.” Al-Hurra is 400 pounds, so that 29,650 was calculated instead of 30,050 pounds in the previous table,” explaining that “there was no adjustment in the price of gasoline because it is calculated according to the exchange rate.”
Prices are as follows:
Diesel at 769,000 Lebanese pounds, and gas at 358,000 pounds.
