Being imprisoned for four years made it difficult for the giant dog to get along with others. Volunteers decided to rent a house to let him live freely

[Animal News]The psychological trauma caused by animals being injured by humans is not easy to repair. Kingsley, a large dog who was imprisoned in a factory for 4 years, has been rescued for 3 months and has been through several temporary trustees and adopters, but he is always bitten and unable to live together. Volunteer Rosa said Kingsley’s experience in prison was so traumatic that he might easily lose control in stressful situations, including being trapped in small places or being in too close contact with others. In order to make Kingsley have a better life, she decided to rent a house for Kingsley to live in, “He will have a good time with people, but getting along with them will make him feel a lot of pressure, like some cat’s character, being touched by people I didn’t like it following a long time, so I rented a room for him to live in, and let good people come to feed him and take care of him regularly.”

6-year-old Kingsley, formerly known as Wang Cai, is estimated to be a mixed breed of Tibetan mastiff and Caucasian dog. Because it was too big and was accused of biting people, he has been trapped in a cage in the open air of the factory for the past 4 years, living a prison-like life. When he left, the AFCD personnel caught him, but the AFCD personnel might not take him away because the wealth was too bad. They planned to destroy him on the spot the next day. Fortunately, the volunteers rescued Kingsley in time.

However, the cruel cage of the former owner has greatly traumatized Kingsley’s heart, and it has also made it difficult for him to find his home. Kingsley has gone through several temporary trustees and adopters, but it is always not enough for a few days to have an accident such as a bite and cannot continue his life. Although he has been sent to a training school, the situation has not improved significantly. Rosa described that Kingsley was usually friendly to people and would have a good time with people, but when he was asked to spend a long time with people, he would experience stress, “I find that he is more relaxed and relaxed in a larger environment. Happy, but when he goes indoors or in smaller spaces, he gets very upset.”

She said, “I think his personality is a bit like some cats. He likes to play with you, but if there is too much contact, he will feel pressure and resist.” It’s just that Kingsley is bigger, and when he resists, he has the opportunity to make people are injured.

Rosa didn’t want to give up Kingsley, so she decided to change her strategy. She rented a house in Yuen Long for him to live in, and set up a whatsapp group for enthusiastic citizens to feed and visit. There is a large space and air-conditioning in the house for him to live comfortably. Although he likes to play with people, he doesn’t seem to like living with people. This is what I have arranged for him to the best of my ability.”
