Features of the Samsung S95B QD-OLED TV
You already have to know how OLED works in general terms. These are self-luminous diodes and in conventional OLED TVs that do not have QD-OLED technology, there are 4 pixels: red, blue, green and white. The white used to make the slab a little brighter. Knowing all the same that the weak point of this technology remains a lower brightness than the best LCD screens: Mini-LEDs. On the other hand, the contrast of the OLED is better since it is infinite. When part of a scene is black, the pixels are simply turned off.
Samsung takes a different approach with its QD-OLED technology. These are always self-emitted diodes that display bright pixels. On the other hand, Samsung has managed to make its panel work without going through a white pixel and therefore manages to stay on the 3 fundamental colors: red, green and blue. There are two advantages to this:
- the colorimetric coverage is wider than with “normal” OLED panels: the colors are purer
- brightness is more important. The S95B thus offers the best brightness of all OLED TVs on the market.
Beyond its revolutionary panel, it is also a television packed with features. Starting with its powerful Neural Quantum 4K processor, which allows faithful color display and the use of Brilliant 4K AI Upscaling technology. This increases the quality of content in Full HD for example, to 4K. This happens very often when you watch movies that are often in Full HD and not in 4K or when you watch Youtube videos, when you play the Switch…
Gaming level you will not be outdone, it is capable of displaying 120 FPS in 4K with its 4 high-speed HDMI 2.1 ports. Ideal for taking advantage of the full potential of your Xbox Series X or PS5, especially since the TV is FreeSync Premium and VRR compatible and has very low input lag.
If you don’t have a console yet, Samsung has just signed a partnership with Microsoft to integrate the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate application on its 2022 TVs (including the S95B) from June 30, 2022. It’s Microsoft’s “Video Game Netflix”. All you have to do is subscribe and connect any controller via Bluetooth, including a PS5 controller to play the great Xbox Series X games without having a console: Forza, Halo Infinite…
For the rest of the features of the OLED TV we find the Samsung Smart TV Tizen universe, with all the main streaming services like Netflix, Disney +, Prime Video, OCS, etc. It also includes a TNT tuner for watching television. It is also possible to use it as a PC with the wireless Dex function.
The features of the offered Dolby Atmos HW-Q600B soundbar
If the S95B TV already includes 6 speakers for Dolby Atmos sound, the sound will be greatly improved by the presence of the sound bar Q-Series HW-Q600B offers. Recently released and part of the 2022 lineup of new Samsung soundbars, the latter works in addition to the sound of the television thanks to Q-Symphony 2.0 technology. This offers an even more immersive sound spatialization: the sound of the 2 devices is made to operate simultaneously.
The soundbar produces 3.1.2 sound (3 front channels, 1 for the subwoofer and 2 vertical channels for the Dolby Atmos effects). The soundbar is part of Samsung’s high-end “Q” series, so it has a 5.5 Kg subwoofer and the Dolby Atmos wireless function.
Finally, the 2 remote controls, those for the TV and the soundbar, are fully compatible: you can control the 2 devices with a single remote control since the TV and the soundbar are designed to work together.

Which TV to buy during the 2022 summer sales?
Which TV offers the best brightness?
In terms of “bright peak” (which corresponds to the maximum brightness of a screen), Samsung’s Neo-QLED TVs break records, thanks to the use of mini-LED technology. This backlighting is very complete and allows in particular to highlight HDR content. The OLED is also behind on this point, but makes up for it with its unbeatable contrast ratio. Finally, if you want the best of the best, we can recommend that you turn to Samsung’s QD-OLED TVs which combine the best of both worlds.
Can you play in 4K at 120 FPS on a 100 Hz TV?
This confusion stems from the display standards used in the television sector, the analogue PAL and NTSC formats. The PAL format has multiple frequencies of 25 Hz, such as 50 Hz or 100 Hz. While the NTSC has multiple frequencies of 30 Hz, such as 60 Hz or 120 Hz. For this reason, the same television may be listed in Europe with a 100Hz panel, while in the US it will be listed as 120Hz. So yes, on modern TVs you can play at 60 FPS on a 50Hz TV and at 120 FPS on a 100 Hz TV.
What is input lag in video games?
Input lag refers to the time difference between the moment a signal is sent to the TV and the moment the result is displayed on the screen. Case in point: pressing the jump button in a platform game and seeing the jump happen on screen in milliseconds. This is very important data, especially if you play at a high level in competitive and/or fast games. Today, most modern TVs offer low input lag, and some models also have a “game” mode, which improves it a little more, for example, on Samsung TVs.
What is VRR?
VRR stands for “Variable Refresh Rate”, or “variable refresh rate”. It is a technique which consists in adapting the refresh rate of the screen according to the number of images per second broadcast. A function very popular in video games, which avoids the effects of “tearing” or “tearing of the image” when the game is for example faster than the refresh rate of the screen. A TV is VRR compatible when it is marked “FreeSync” or G-Sync”.
