This Tuesday, Deportivo Independiente Medellín confirmed David González as the new coach of the professional team. The former goalkeeper and power idol will get his first chance as a professional coach.

David came to the Dean very young, with work and dedication he earned the ownership of the Powerful arch, next to a generation that changed history, achieving the long-awaited third star, on December 22, 2002, ending the 45-year drought without titles in the Red house,” the club said in a statement published on its app.
González, who is one of the institution’s top leaders, was in its most glorious moments, such as the 2002 title, the 2003 Copa Libertadores, the star of 2004 once morest Nacional, the last league star, in 2016 and the 2019 Colombia Cup. With four titles, he is the most successful player in DIM history.

David González will be accompanied in his coaching staff by Alexánder Becerra, as his first assistant and Christian Morales as second technical assistant, they will be joined by David Zuleta as physical trainer and Dídier Muñoz as goalkeeping coach.
The official presentation of the strategist will be this Wednesday, at the Atanasio Girardot stadium, before the media. Medellín has the challenge in this second semester in League II-2022, debuting in Ibagué once morest Deportes Tolima and in the Colombia Cup, where they will face Junior de Barranquilla in the quarterfinals.
