‘Winning the Women’s PGA Championship’ Jeon Inji leaps to 12th in the world rankings

Jeon In-ji (28) from Hampyeong Golf High, who won the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, a major event on the LPGA Tour in the US, climbed to 12th place in the world rankings.
In the women’s golf world ranking announced on the 28th, Jeon In-ji ranked 12th with an average of 4.46 points. She said last week that she climbed her ranking from 33 to 21 places.
Jeon In-ji’s rise in ranking was due to her winning the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. In the tournament that ended the day before at Congressional Country Club in Maryland, USA, Jeon In-ji took the top spot with a final total of 5 under par 283.
It is the LPGA Tour championship cup that has been harvested in three years and eight months since winning the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship in October 2018. After winning the U.S. Women’s Open in 2015 and the Evian Championship in 2016, she won her third major championship, proving herself as a ‘major queen’ strong in big competitions.
Jinyoung Ko (27) maintained the first place with a ranking average of 9.35 points. Lee Min-ji (Australia), who finished runners-up in the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, recorded 8.45 points, downgrading Nelly Corda (USA) with 8.23 points to third place, and climbed to second place.
Kim Hyo-joo (27) ranked 8th, up two places from last week. ‘From Yeongam’ Kim Se-young (29) rose one place to 11th, and Park In-bi (34) fell two places to 13th. Park Min-ji (24) moved up two places to 16th.
