For a long time now, the American composer Steve Reich has associated music and image. Created in 2019, on the occasion of the opening of The Shed, a cultural center located in Hudson Yards (Manhattan, New York), the piece Rich/Judge was originally composed to be played with Moving Picture (946-3), a film by Corinna Belz and Gerhard Richter. For half an hour, the film deploys simple stripes, which divide, become more complex and then return to their origin.

A play on textures made up of sound waves and a visual dimension that we fully find in the interpretation offered by the Ensemble intercontemporain, directed by George Jackson. A captivating record, rich both in terms of sounds and atmospheres, lively and intoxicating.
