12 people, including 8 Jordanians and 4 of other nationalities, were killed today (Monday); As a result of a gas leakage from a tanker that fell in the port of Aqaba.
The media spokesman for the Jordanian Public Security Directorate confirmed the control of the leak, which also caused the injury of more than 251 people, and the evacuation of the southern beach of its visitors in order to preserve their safety.
And the media spokesman indicated that a tank filled with a toxic gaseous substance had fallen during the daily work in the port of Aqaba; Resulting in a gas leak at the site.
He explained that the area was immediately isolated, and specialists began to deal with the incident, while the Civil Defense transferred a number of injuries to the hospital, all of whom are under treatment.
