Author Mohamed Ragaa revealed that he agreed to show the movie “Cairo Mecca”, starring Mona Zaki, 12 years following it was banned from showing in Egypt.
In the film, Mona Zaki embodied the role of a girl who suffers from fear due to some wrong habits and traditions, which negatively affects her psyche, and it was filmed between Cairo and Mecca as the first Egyptian movie to be filmed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and includes prohibited scenes.
The film directed by “Hani Khalifa”, whose filming ended in 2012, had been suspended because it did not meet the conditions of society.
To celebrate this occasion, Ragaa wrote on his personal page on “Facebook” saying: “After more than 11 years of patience, waiting, quest, journeys, scenarios, attempts to produce, ashamed and frustration … “Cairo Makkah” starring the artist Mona Zaki with a group of the most important stars, production by Mohamed Hefzy and directed by Hani Khalifa.
