AvtoVAZ assembled a trial batch of 26 “simplified” SUVs LADA Niva Legend and LADA Niva Travel. The Avtograd News public on the VKontakte social network reported how they differ from the previous ones and what options Togliatti managed to keep.
According to Avtograd News, the main difference between the anti-crisis Niva should be the absence of three things: an anti-lock braking system (ABS), which was once mandatory for the installation of the ERA-GLONASS complex, and the only airbag for the driver. Visually, Niva Legend will not change in any way, either outside or inside.
“The only difference in this sense should be made by the configuration, since the trial batch, according to rumors, included both the basic Niva with simple duralumin bumpers and the more expensive Niva Urban,” the Autonews of the Day portal clarifies.
In turn, Niva Travel will not change outwardly either, but in the cabin it will have a new steering wheel without an inscription: “Airbag” – the same as the “simplified” Granta Classic, whose sales have already begun.
The launch of mass production of LADA Niva without airbags should be phased. It is expected that in July the classic Niva Legend will be put on the conveyor, and in August the more expensive Niva Travel will join it.
