Lawyer for the murderer of the Mansoura student set off a “surprise”!

On Sunday, the first session of the trial of an Egyptian young man who confessed to the murder of a student in front of her university in the Nile Delta, north of Cairo, began following she refused to be associated with him, according to “AFP”.

And on Wednesday, the Egyptian Public Prosecutor, Hamada El-Sawy, referred the accused to the Criminal Court, accusing him of “intentionally killing the victim, Naira (Ashraf), with premeditation… and surprising her with a knife that stabbed her several times, intending to take her life.”

The accused “confessed to having committed the crime of killing the victim,” according to a statement by the Public Prosecutor.

From the Mansoura Criminal Court in Dakahlia Governorate, the lawyer for the accused, Ahmed Hamad, said that the next session is scheduled for Tuesday.

He added, that the case will witness surprises and new evidence that will change the opinion of the disturbed public opinion regarding the incident, according to the Al Arabiya website.

Ahmed Hamad made it clear in a short video before the trial that he would request a postponement and be alone with his client following the session, refusing to answer a question regarding the accused’s psychological condition.

The authorities allowed this trial to be filmed by the media, following the case sparked controversy and anger on social media platforms.
