Game news PS5: the 5 games to watch in July 2022
Published on 06/26/2022 at 12:15
After a particularly dense few months, the PS5 catalog will not welcome its best month in July 2022, let’s be clear. However, some releases are to be watched, in particular thanks to the arrival of a large automobile simulation as well as that of real Japanese safe bets. We look at it right away.
Summary
- F1 22
- Matchpoint – Tennis Championships
- MADiSON
- KLONOA Phantasy Reverie Series
- Yurukill : The Calumniation Games
F1 22
Like every year, around the same time, Codemasters introduces the new version of its iconic Formula One franchise, obviously drawn from the official championship. F1 22 therefore offers itself as the revival of a series that is pure and hard simulation, and for good reason: the game will integrate the brand new regulations of the competition and the new single-seaters. In the department of novelties, we can also count on the sprint races tested in reality last year while the Career modes (not scripted this time) and My Team will make their big comeback. The circuits will also be modified to reflect recent changes made in real life and of course, the flagship drivers will be in the cast. : in short, if you like car racing, this is probably the most interesting game of the month.

Matchpoint – Tennis Championships
If tennis games have always existed in the Tenth Art and have sometimes been popular, it is difficult to say that the genre has shined in recent years. Much to our dismay, since some titles have proven to be absolutely brilliant in the past: Matchpoint is a newcomer to the game and offers itself as a “modern tennis simulation”, with “authentic” gameplay and an “immersive” experience. Obviously, we will have to wait for the release, scheduled for July 7, to see what it has in store: in any case, it promises a Career mode in which we will make our own future tennis star, a cast of sixteen professional players ( including Nick Kyrgios, Kei Nishikori and Amanda Anisimova), multiplayer… A potential good competitor for Tennis World Tour 2?

MADiSON
MADiSON, it’s been a while since he has to go out but he turns back at the last moment. This was the case last January, then in June: finally, the horror game chose the window of July 8 to impose its quite enticing psychological horror. We will embody a poor unfortunate trapped by Madison, an evil spirit half freed by an occult rite in an anxiety-provoking environment as we like them. A real mix between Layers of Fear and Project Zero – we will use a camera to communicate with the followinglife – which has been arousing our curiosity for months already : still it would have to come out. This time it seems to be the right one.

KLONOA Phantasy Reverie Series
You may have missed it – it must be said that the saga is starting to date a bit – but Klonoa was a very nice platform game franchise. Its resuscitation is scheduled for July 8 and will focus on bringing to the fore two anthology games, namely “Klonoa: Door to Phantomile” and “Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil”released respectively in 1997 and 2001. It is therefore on the occasion of the twenty-fifth anniversary of this first that the compilation “Phantasy Reverie Series” is revealed, extensively remastering both opuses while preserving the distinctive colorful experience of side-scrolling 2D. We will also be entitled to an adjustable difficulty level – ideal for those who are new to the license or for those who wish to take it slowly. In short, an outing to watch closely and which might well please the most nostalgic among us.

Yurukill : The Calumniation Games
If you like improbable genre mixes, you’ve come to the right place. Yurukill : The Calumniation Games likes to mix the very epileptic “old-fashioned” shoot them up and the narrative game, with a deep story and a lot of characters in a perfectly Japanese story. The player slips into the shoes of a character wrongly accused of a horrible crime, waking up in Yurukill Land. To regain his freedom, he will then have to survive the countless attractions, a very good opportunity to reconnect with the arcade. It should be noted that the whole thing is written by Homura Kawamoto, known for his manga Kakegurui: a frankly singular experience that we must keep a very close eye on.
