Storms, hail, wind and electrical activity: eight departments on orange alert

After the heat wavethem thunderstorms. Following the record temperatures and the heat wave which swept over our country, the week was marked by storms.

And while we thought the worst was over with a rainy first part of the weekend, eight departments were placed in vigilance orange Thunderstorms this Sunday, around 11 a.m. Departments located in the east of the country: namely the Lower Rhinethem Vosgesle Upper Rhinele Territory of Belfortthe Haute-Saonele Doubsle Jura and theAin.

“Showers, even locally isolated thunderstorms without particular virulence, are present until the end of the followingnoon on the departments in orange vigilance”, details Meteo France. “At the beginning of the evening of (this) Sunday, more marked thunderstorms approach the department of Ain and the south of Franche-Comté then come gradually to concern the Vosges and Alsace before evacuating by the north in the middle next night. Showers will then persist until Monday morning. These thunderstorms will be accompanied by violent phenomena.
