News 24 | Consumer Protection launches an initiative to reduce the prices of 20 basic products in cooperation with major supermarkets

The Consumer Protection Association launched the “Consumer Friendly Products” initiative, which aims to reduce the prices of 20 basic products from the average prices of goods and services issued by the General Authority for Statistics.

The association explained that the initiative will continue until the end of 2022 and come with the participation of central markets, by offering the lowest price for basic products so that the consumer can obtain them, provided that the list is updated monthly.

She indicated that these lists will be linked to the association’s website to facilitate consumers’ access to prices and comparison between different stores through one website, while the association verifies, before publishing and announcing the lists, that the discount rate on these lists is not less than 10%.

The association indicated that the Consumer Friendly Products initiative involves a number of major supermarkets; To provide discounted food commodities to consumers in more than 300 branches covering all regions of the Kingdom.
