Iran’s foreign minister on talks with Borrell: fruitful

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian commented on his talks with the European Union’s foreign policy and security chief Josep Borrell on Saturday, saying that it “was fruitful.”

“We had fruitful talks on a range of bilateral, regional and international issues, including the latest status of negotiations related to lifting the embargo,” Abdullahian said in a tweet, according to the official Iranian news agency.

“If the other parties have the necessary will, Iran is determined to reach a good, strong and lasting agreement,” the Iranian minister continued.

He added: “During the four-hour meeting, which was positive, we exchanged views on the comprehensive cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the European Union. I told Mr. Borrell that the Islamic Republic of Iran seeks balanced relations with the world, and that in a balanced foreign policy, the European continent occupies an important place. For us”.

He added, “We have always fulfilled our commitments in the nuclear agreement and never left the negotiating table. We will continue negotiations now without retreating from the rights of the dear Iranian people.
