While an official at the US State Department said that his country is working behind the scenes to make conditions conducive for the participation of democratic forces in Sudan in the facilitated political process through the “tripartite mechanism”, while reports revealed an imminent visit of the new US envoy to the Horn of Africa, Mike Hammer, to Khartoum.
