Apple starts accepting applications for “Summer Camp”

“Summer Camp” is a free workshop provided by Apple for children aged 8-12. Held weekly at Apple Store stores from June 20th to August 31st.

This year, a session to create a comic book with a family using an iPad “Art Lab: Family-friendly comic adventureIs held.

The theme of the comic book to be created is “Protecting the Earth”. After envisioning a story to protect the planet, he said he would jump out of the Apple Store and work on making comic books, freely adding pictures and stickers to the various photos he took around him.

Participants will be rented an iPad and an Apple Pencil. Also, when you participate in the summer camp, you will receive an original T-shirt and a certificate of completion.

One session lasts regarding 2 hours. It used to be held for three days, but this year it seems that it can be completed in just one day. By the way, this session is for children, but you need to be accompanied by a guardian to participate.

The stores will be held at all Apple stores in Japan: Apple Ginza / Marunouchi / Shinjuku / Shibuya / Omotesando / Kawasaki / Nagoya Sakae / Kyoto / Shinsaibashi / Fukuoka. The “Summer Camp” will be held as a physical event for the first time in three years since 2019, and will be held for the first time in two years including 2020, which was held online.

Currently, the reception of sessions to be held from June 24th (Friday) to 26th (Sunday) has started. At the time of posting the article, it seems that some sessions of Apple Ginza / Kyoto on June 26th (Sun) are already full. Other sessions can still be booked, so if you want to attend, apply early.

By the way, a camp field guide that you can participate in from home is distributed on Apple’s official website. It is said that it contains 20 activities that can be tackled using the iPad.
