The social networking company for instant messaging “WhatsApp” is testing a new feature on its digital platform, which allows users to automatically categorize consecutive photos and videos sent through the chat window.
And “WhatsApp” said in a post, today, Wednesday, that it has introduced the “Automatic Albums” feature on the beta version of the desktop version of the “Windows” operating system only.
According to screenshots shared by WABetaInfo, the most popular follower of WhatsApp news, when users send or receive more than three photos or videos in a row, the messaging service “automatically” collects them into an album to avoid wasting scrolling.
WABetaInfo said in its report that users will also be able to see the full set of photos by clicking on the album. In other words, the site clarified that through the update, the media shared respectively in the chat will be organized as a “single album.”
The site indicated that this feature is only available to users who have installed the latest version of the WhatsApp desktop application from the Microsoft Store. It is worth noting that this function is already present in other beta versions on the “Android” and “iOS” operating systems.
On the other hand, WhatsApp has now made it possible to transfer data from Android to iOS, in one of the most requested features by users, but it is still only available in the beta version of the messaging application, however, it is expected that The feature is soon in the final version of the app for all users.
This function allows users to transfer all their history of conversations, video calls and voice messages, except for the history of voice calls. This option will only work on smartphones running “Android 5” or higher, and “iPhone” phones running “iOS 15.5” or higher.
For the WhatsApp application itself, the version numbered “2.22.7.74” for “Android” and “2.22.10.70” for “iOS” will be necessary. The new feature will only work with new “iPhone” phones on which the application is installed for the first time or those that have been subjected to a “factory reset”.
The new feature will be enjoyed by downloading the “Move to iOS” application on the user’s “Android” device, then, following that, both phones must be connected to the same “Wi-Fi” network, then start following the instructions and transfer data smoothly.
It is worth noting that recently, “WhatsApp” introduced many features for the desktop version, most notably a feature for sharing photos once, and recording voice notes for the “Windows” operating system.
Besides, the messaging platform has also introduced a new feature that allows users to add up to 512 members to a group chat.
