A treatment increasing the epilepsy had been administered before he was no longer monitored.
The Liège University Hospital was fined 15,000 euros before the Liège Criminal Court for the manslaughter of one of its patients, Hans, 19, a young man with epilepsy, who died of suffocation in his pillow during hospitalization.
The court has just condemned the CHU to compensate the family of the deceased.
The facts are dramatic. Hans had been epileptic since the age of nine.
In neurology, he underwent an “EEG video exploration”.
