New Delhi: The state is gearing up to extradite a gangster accused in a murder case to Punjab. Lawrence Bishnoi, the accused in the murder of singer Moose Wala Sidhu, is set to be taken into custody. The accused is currently lodged in Tihar Jail in the custody of Delhi Police. The security measures were explained in an application filed by the Punjab Police seeking permission for his arrest and remand in the Patiala House court today.

50 police commandos, 2 bullet proof cars and 12 other vehicles will be used to escort the accused. Punjab Advocate General Anmol Ratan Sidhu told the court that the entire footage taken by the accused would be recorded. The court allowed the accused to be taken into custody and remanded in custody. The AG told the court that the Punjab government fully guarantees the safety of the accused.

Bishnoi, who is accused in several cases, was in the custody of the Delhi Police in connection with a case. Defendant’s lawyer Vishal Chopra, however, said that Bishnoi should not be extradited to Punjab and that he feared for his life. The lawyer said the arrest might be registered in Delhi and he was only opposed to being taken to Punjab.

Bishnoi is the mastermind behind the murder of Punjabi singer Shubhdeep Singh, popularly known as Moosewala Singh. The Delhi Police has also revealed that he was involved in a conspiracy in connection with the case. The revenge assassination was allegedly carried out by Moosewala Singh in connection with the murder of Vikramjeet Singh. His manager Shakundeep Singh has gone missing following the killing of Moosewala Singh.
