“Primarily between the Bregenzerwald and the Tyrolean Unterland, but later also in the south-east of the country, there are increased thunderstorms near risk of severe weather by gusts of wind, hail and heavy rain,” warns Manfred Spatzierer, chief meteorologist at the Austrian Severe Weather Center.

It is most likely to remain dry on Lake Constance and in the Weinviertel. Despite the thunderstorm, the temperatures remain at a summer level and often reach 24 to 30 degrees.

As early as Friday, the fault is pulling away to the southeast and increasing from the west a mighty high gradually gaining influence on the weather in the Alps. “The window day will be dry with a friendly mix of sun and clouds in most of the country,” predicts Spatzierer.

“Only in the central mountains and in the south is the tendency to shower slightly higher,” says the expert. In addition, it stays summery warm with 23 to 30 degrees throughout Austria.

Heat weekend with up to 35 degrees

Saturday will bring mostly sunny and stable weather. 25 to 30 degrees are common, but peak values ​​of up to 33 degrees can be expected in Vorarlberg and the Tyrolean Oberland.

Then on Sunday she wins heat from the west the upper hand and nationwide 26 to 34 or 35 degrees are in sight.
