Beijing’s ‘club’ group infection spreads rapidly

The group infection from clubs, which occurred as soon as the semi-blockade quarantine measures were lifted in Beijing, China, is spreading rapidly.

According to the Health and Health Commission of China, the number of infected people from clubs in Beijing yesterday was 74.

Excluding the 9th (8 people) when the group infection was first confirmed, 61 people on the 10th, 65 people on the 11th, and 51 people on the 12th, etc.

All of them had visited a club in Chaoyang District or had close contact with visitors. The area where the infected occurred reached 15 out of 17 wards.

As additional infections were confirmed, the total number of close contacts increased by 1,967 to 582.

Beijing has closed 74 clubs, more than 700 restaurants and 230 beauty salons operating in the Sanlitun district of Chaoyang District, where the club is located. In addition, we are blocking the residential complex where the infected person came from, and conducting PCR testing once a day for the residents of the residential complex.

The city postponed the reopening of elementary, middle, and high schools and kindergartens, which were scheduled to resume on the 13th, and stopped operating major tourist destinations from the previous day. In addition, from the 9th, the operation of entertainment and entertainment facilities such as clubs, karaoke rooms, PC rooms, and escape room cafes has also been suspended.
