Ahen work on the generalization of social coverage is progressing rapidly, with the prospect of an increase in demand for the health sector, Aziz Akhannouch made a series of announcements on Monday, anticipating this flow of requests for the sector and indicating that health reform is an important condition for the success of the generalization of social coverage.

A Health Authority

The head of government presented a series of bills in progress to concretize a new geographical distribution of the supply of care for each region of the Kingdom. Objective: to increase the offer of care. This new card also aims to facilitate the path of the patient and the care of the attendants.
This reform also aims to generalize the role of the “family doctor” to all Moroccans.
To steer this project, a Health Authority will be created to regulate access to care and assess the quality of health services delivered within the framework of the generalization of AMO. This institution will also aim to guarantee the sustainability of the national health strategy.

Akhannouch also announced the future creation of a national agency for medicines and medical products. This agency will enjoy financial and administrative independence and will have, among other roles, the development of the pharmaceutical policy of the Kingdom to guarantee the sovereignty of the Kingdom in terms of pharmaceutical treatments and products.

National Blood Agency

Another announcement from Akhannouch: A national agency for blood, as soon as possible. It is a question of guaranteeing the self-sufficiency of the Kingdom in blood and derivatives so that this service remains public and is exercised only by the organizations attached to the Ministry of Health.
