Al-Ain, June 13 / WAM / The National Institute for Health Specialties granted institutional accreditation to Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, for a period of five years, following it fulfilled the accreditation requirements in line with the latest international standards and practices, in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Al Hoqani, Secretary General of the Institute, and Dr. Nasser Amash, CEO of Shakhbout Medical City and a number of specialized doctors.
Dr. Muhammad Al-Hawqani confirmed that the institutional and program accreditation standards have been prepared in accordance with the best international practices in medical education and in cooperation with partners from representatives of health authorities in the country, stressing that the institute guarantees adherence to these standards to improve the quality of medical educational practices throughout the country.
For his part, Dr. Nasser Ammash said: “The focus on preparing the most efficient and experienced workforce through strong educational solutions and accreditation programs in Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City will contribute to achieving our vision of becoming a preferred destination for integrated healthcare services directed at complex, critical and rare diseases. By always raising educational standards, we will be better able to respond to the healthcare needs of patients within the country.”
The accreditation provides an opportunity to enable trainee doctors to obtain the Emirates Board certificates, which grants a consultant degree following obtaining it. Diploma, which is also responsible for developing and approving unified national professional standards for health qualifications, to ensure the quality of accredited health programs in educational institutions.
