Rainbow RPG disagrees with FNDC and G58

Even if it has been collaborating for a few months with the G58, the RPG Arc-en-ciel does not agree with this entity (composed of 58 political parties including the UFDG of Cellou Dalein Diallo and the UFR of Sidya Touré ) in relation to the resumption of street protests in Guinea. As the G58 and the FNDC (National Front for the Defense of the Constitution) prepare to take to the streets to protest once morest the actions of the CNRD (the ruling military junta), the former ruling party is making it known that it will never call on its activists to go out and demonstrate in the streets.

The political party made this announcement during its weekly general meeting on Saturday June 11, 2022, noted a journalist from Guineematin.com who was on site.

Elhadj Ahmed Tidiane Traoré, member of the political bureau of the Rainbow RPG

“We begin by retracing the political education we gave to the militants of the RPG, to the creation of this party. You were told to walk together in the same direction. Since September 5, 2021 (the date of the military coup that overthrew President Alpha Condé), we have been telling activists inside to keep quiet and stay calm. And you observed what we said. Since September 6, 2021, RPG Rainbow hasn’t thrown rocks, smashed a car, burned tires. This means that you have basic training. We congratulate you. At one point, you said that the national office is worth nothing, because you weren’t told to get out (demonstrate in the street, editor’s note). But you will never be told to get out.

Again, you will never be told to get out. It is all of Guinea that must be united. The CNRD has said that it will bring all Guineans together, we are observing the CNRD. This is when we will see the hand of President Alpha Condé in the hand of President Mamadi Doumbouya, the hand of Amadou Damaro Camara in the hand of Dr Dansa Kourouma and the hand of Prime Minister Dr Ibrahima Kassory Fofana in the hand of Prime Minister Mohamed Béavogui (…). We trust them. We know they will. When they do, at this time, we will be convinced that they are men of their word. We tell you once more to be disciplined, not to speak badly of the CNRD, not to speak badly of the president of the transition”, declared Elhadj Ahmed Tidiane Traoré, member of the national political bureau of the RPG Arc-en-ciel.

While reiterating that the RPG Arc-en-ciel is not part of the logic of street demonstrations, this former transport minister of President Alpha Condé invited activists to come each week to the party’s general assembly to find out the guidelines to follow. “Other parties and civil society organizations want us to be together. But we can’t do it without asking for your agreement so that we don’t say it’s a fear. So we’re not going to put you on the street. By putting you in the street, we will shoot you, there will be deaths that we will have on our conscience. You are our children, we will never advise you to go out in the street. Come here every week to the general assembly, we will tell you what you have to do every week, ”said Elhadj Ahmed Tidiane Traoré.
