The body Railways Through the Irmas workshop specialized in the maintenance and overhauling of mobile units and the General Nile Company for the construction of roads affiliated with the Ministry of Transport, the completion of the restoration of the royal train and its return to its historical condition, and its natural components while preserving its ancient archaeological character and historical form.

The authority said in a statement today, that this comes within the framework of the Ministry of Transport represented by the National Railways Authority of Egypt to preserve the historical mobile units in conjunction with the implementation of a comprehensive plan for the continuous development of the fleet of mobile units and support it with modern units that provide the highest levels of service to the public of passengers.

The authority also ran the train to Alexandria via the Cairo/Alexandria railway line, and it was not transported through giant trucks running by land, which indicates the great effort he made to re-run this historic train, which had been operated in one of the past eras of Egypt’s history. This embodies that Egypt, while establishing the new republic whose foundations were laid by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, is keen to preserve everything related to all historical periods.

It is worth noting that the story of the Royal Train dates back to the middle of the last century, when its manufacture was started and the Italian company Fiat was chosen to manufacture the Royal Train, which it called the Express Diesel.

The train consists of two cars that accommodate 40 passengers, and is equipped with comfortable portable seats that can be converted into small salons. The train has 12 telephones in the rooms and salons up to the driver’s cabin, and there is a kitchen on the train.

The train’s lighting systems were designed by fluorescent lights, and a special type of glass was installed that allowed vision from the inside only. The train also contains a royal salon and its walls are all lined from the inside. After the train arrived in Alexandria, it was placed in the Montazah Historical Museum.
