The Medicines Authority revealed the validity periods of some medicines, stressing that the validity of a single product varies from one preparation to another, noting that the validity period of drops or ointments following opening, whether for the nose, ear and eyes, is most likely 28 days from the date of opening or according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
And the Medicines Authority advised, in a post on its official page on Facebook, to refer to the internal bulletin of the medicine or the pharmacist to inquire regarding any medicines or their validity periods.
And she continued: Writing an expiration date on the package reassures the public and it cannot be changed, but there are cases in which the shelf life of medicines varies following opening, and in this case the Medicines Authority advises to refer to the written in the internal leaflet of the drug, and follow the instructions.
