You may rest in sleep alone or with a partner, the matter does not need to be studied, and every person knows the way that comforts him and helps him relax, and thus maintains his physical and psychological health.
But new research suggests that sleeping next to someone may have an effect on sleep. Where researchers from the University of Arizona showed that adults who share a bed with another, sleep better than those who sleep alone, according to the newspaper “Express”.
The results of the study, published in the journal Sleep, also reported that sleeping with a partner led to less severe insomnia, better mental health, reduced fatigue, and a lower risk of sleep apnea.
However, if someone shares a bed with a child, they face an increased risk of insomnia and less control over their sleep.
Sleeping next to the husband is better!
Study co-author Brandon Fuentes said, “Sleeping with a partner appears to have significant benefits for sleep health, including reduced risk of sleep apnea, severity of sleep insomnia, and overall improvement in sleep quality.”
Dr Michael Grander, from the University of Arizona, said: “There are very few research studies exploring this, but our findings suggest that sleeping alone or with a partner, family member or pet may affect our sleep health.”
Data is not enough
But at the same time, he saw that the number of studies in this area is less than other studies, so more data is needed in order to reach a conclusion.
It is noteworthy that health experts usually recommend that all adults get at least seven hours of sleep per night.
Especially since sleep deprivation or not getting enough of it, due to various and multiple disorders, can affect the cognitive function of the individual, which one study found to weaken following 16 to 18 hours of wakefulness.
